((Things are about to get hairy. And not the good, manly chest-hairy kind of way. The last phase of the "what the hell is wrong with Vik?" stuff is about to commence, so this be the place to gather and consolidate info on Vik's condition. A few things have already been revealed to certain people, but the real bomb hasn't been dropped yet (I advise checking your ig mail). The entire thing has been running for roughly over a year now, with all kinds of different people and groups being fed information that now, hopefully, comes together to form the big picture. That being said - AEgir's involvement mostly dealt with Vik's condition itself. Who, or if anyone at all, wants to get involved beyond that is entirely up to you. You can try to get Vik "fixed" and not bother with the rest, trade information with others involved, or even render assistance.
'tis be all for now. Hope you'll have some fun with it :3

((Okay. So Saki has presented three clues. So far, she's told Jule, Carl, Shay, Vi, and Bryn -- but assume she'll go over these things with anyone who is curious.
The first is a tarot reading. She used a spread specifically designed to help answer problems. Here are the cards, the meaning she associates with each, and her overall reading:
What was Vik was trying to achieve? The Star - He was trying to start something anew; bring about renewal. Because this card indicates hope and faith, most likely it was to help someone else.
What was blocking him from achieving it? The Green Knight - Someone had challenged him. Put specific and difficult obstacles in his path.
How he blocked himself? Spear Ten - He tried to do too much of it on his own. He didn't ask for help when he should have.
What he achieved: Taliesin - He shed light on something. Through his actions other things were revealed. He learned something of value and of genuine meaning.
How he achieved it: Sword Hallow - Victory through conquest. Through willpower and strength.
How he helped himself: Grail Two - He had a partner. Given the feelings inherent in this card, someone he cared for. Maybe someone who helped give him the courage to move forward, although this person would clearly help him as much as much as he/she was able to do so.
What others thought about what he was doing: Lady of the Lake - It was considered a good thing for getting information. This strength of this card makes me thing that maybe someone else actually encouraged and backed his actions in the name of gaining knowledge.
Who benefited from what happened? Washer in the Ford (the “Death Card”) - Someone wanted to be rid of Vik. He was a problem to someone who came to an end. Also inherent in this card is the idea that Vik helped break some kind of pattern. Put an end to something.
How can all this be better understood/revisualized. Merlin – We need to think outside the box, and there's still a lot of information to be learned. We may need to take the initiative in this investigation.
The next step: Stone Eight - Hard work. Patience. Outsourcing to others who have skills that will help us. Basically we just need to apply our selves and whatever strong resources we can.
The Key: The Sleeping Lord : Renewal, resurrection. This tells me that Vik isn't gone, but that he needs to reborn or revived somehow. He's almost... in a holding pattern. Waiting to transition from one thing to another. Starting anew. Beginning again after resting.
This is what Saki says about it:
“Overall, it seems to me that Vik was trying to help gain information, possibly as some kind of assignment, and ended up really wanting to help some group or person be free and start over. There was a specific challenge put in front of him, and he responded with courage and with force. He took too much of the burden on himself, though, even though there was someone else there ready to help him as much as necessary. His “death” directly benefited someone, so it seems to me it was quite deliberate. Maybe whoever he bested before through willpower and strength sought to end him. Kind of like getting rid of a thorn in one's side. The good news is that this is not the end. We need to learn more about what happened to Vik and his status now, which maybe something unusual. With hard work and diligence, as well as getting help where we need it, we can get answers. Vik can return to us, but inherent in the last card is that he will need to be revived somehow.”
The second clue: She had a dream after she'd done the reading. A black building in a thunderstorm, lightening striking periodically around it. It's night, and there are a few lights on in the middle of the building, and one at the top. On the side is a logo either lit up or as part of the facade. It was like the head of a white wolf or something, mouth open. When Saki told Bryn about this dream, Bryn immediately recognized the description of the logo and pulled it up on her phone to verify -- it's the symbol used by Gleipnir defense, Vik's former employer.
Third Clue: Saki has a scrying mirror which enables her to briefly see friends and loved ones. She used it to try to see Vi, but all she got was a sea of swirling golden light.

Carl's "To-Do" List for Monday morning:
1) Get the PIT crew datamining on Gleipner Defense and Thule Shipping, specifically digging into connections of the companies to Garvik, as well as looking into the explosive ammunition that was used in the incident and determining what purpose Gleipner was developing it for.
2) Request Garvik's personnel file from HR. Find out if he used any aliases or changed his name at any point in his life. Look through recent action reports, try to get a list of suspects (either within Gleipner/Thule or outside of those companies) that would want to see Vik eliminated.
3) Find Garvik's home address and visit the location. Look for any relevant evidence, particularly a book containing blood rituals that he mentioned in passing to friends.

Shay's to-do list: 1) She's going to get in touch with Alice Monroe of Knightsbridge Consulting - with their templar connections they can move more freely about London to find more information on the shooting itself.
2) Keep tabs on Elika Cross's condition. Once She is awake Shay will visit her and attempt to ease her mind, and get anymore info she can about Midas.
3) Visit the WoSei with Saki, and see if she can negotiate a release of Vik's body.

Vi went to Brad King and his team at ESI first thing Monday morning to have them craft a set of rounds using the schematics Vik had brought with him last year. The project will be placed at the highest priority with the goal of creating fifty rounds for testing purposes by the end of the day. She also requests that a new batch of their own proprietary rounds be fashioned for the Security department.

((Jule is all about the spiritual. She's not working on the "why" but the "what now?". Although she lost her ability to resurrect, she's going to have to rely more on the scientific. Vik, there's so many ways we can go about this on how you want your character can be brought back if that's what you want. The cool thing about this is finding a way to practically explain with current spiritual and technological ideas to bring Vik back. She's a woman of action! So, what does she do first after learning about Vik's demise and listening to Saki's reading: she prays. LOL She did really say a lot more but it was in her usual ancient foreign language but basically the gist is that she said a prayer of protection for him. It's been handy to both Carl and Ro in the past to a limited extent. Can't discount in the world of the paranormal, the power of faith.
Jule wants to know what happening with the body and when it's going to be released and she needs to be ready for it with a doctor. Thinking one who has a penchance to prevent further necrosis of his tissue, muscle and tendons. Jule's first goal is to get Vik from corpse to brain dead patient on a ventilator. However, if body has been in the freezer too long, Vik could always be living dead boy. But I digress ...
In the meantime, Jule has been studying on figuring out how she can "rekindle" or "reconnect" Vik's "silver cord" to a working body. She's been boning up on her Eastern religious philosophies on chakras, energy centers, and weirdly enough to Edward Cayce and his astral projection aka Out of Body Experiences as well as back to King Solomon in the Bible. Both Jule and I both lost sleep last night. So fascinating!
Tonight, Saki and Jule will meet up once again and probably trade notes.
My two cents so far,
Myri))

Rowan has been asking around the medical clinics of Temple Hall on any information regarding Vik. Her questions has now captured the attention of Mr WoSei. She notified Saki about them approaching her and is now planning on meeting the investigator

((Alice consulted with Shay and received a bunch of info. Shay also mentioned something about dreams or nightmares and Alice revealed an ability with dreams, but told her to only make it known if there is a specific need for it,as it's not something she's very public about.
KBC is being officially hired to investigate this and Craft has offered to let Alice take the lead.
Her first order of business is getting in touch with Temple Hall to inquire about the body... ask about seeing it, photographing, etc.
While waiting for approval on this, she is hanging out around Darkside looking for clues or potential witnesses; asking residents or loiterers about not just the morning of the shooting but also the previous evening/night's local activities...))

((Results of the different approaches of the characters are out via PM so you may decide for yourself what your characters want to reveal, or maybe if they want to enquire further about a specific point before they reveal anything at all.
Edit: Actually, scratch the above. the New replies just popped up, need to write moar PMs! Edit2: Now stuff is processed.

Shay has now brought KBC into the fray! Model THAT, Dragons!
1) Tomorrow she still has to meet Wolfgang with saki. Will try to negotiate for them to release Vik's body to AEgir.
2) Will report to Rosetta to visit Eikki and inform Jules of what has been learned so far.

Post by Gavin "Ludens" MacKinney on Jan 13, 2014 23:41:54 GMT -8
Gavin showed up late to the party, and using his own super-special abilities was able to see the vision of a gray wolf eating a yellow poof. Then the yellow poof went away. The gathered folks attributed the wolf to Gleipnir Defence. Since then, Gavin has been exploring the Carpathians, possibly on a wild-goose chase (there were mentions of snow and a "madman's words", along with a black cross on a blood-red field (perhaps a flag, perhaps not). He started out heading to Facility 10 (the "Slaughterhouse") and received a text from Saki when he got there mentioning that Jules saw one of the nanny-bots in a vision or something, so he then headed to the ruined nursery to see what he could find.

upon joining Ægir, Vik had brought with him these blueprints and had requested ESI labs put them into production for ÆSecs use. When hearing of the method of Vik's death, Shay believed this ammunition had been used. In addition, Ammie and Shay had remembered a conversation with Vik long ago in which he showed them a set of power armor. Ammie recalls it being called The einherjar armor, and having made a comment of its pilot having to die to use it. Vik didn't find the comment humorous at the time. Shay doesn't recall exactly if that armor looked similar to Orochi's "Nanny bots" or not.

((Not sure if this info got passed around or not, basically Vik went to see Wanda on orders after he had some issues sleeping/weird nightmares shortly after the filth stuff in Agartha kicked off, she gave him a full check up but found nothing and when the symptoms didn't persist the matter was dropped. Later he was referred to her again after he went all bald and had black veins/started to wear a gas mask all the time, Wanda was able to ascertain that something was leeching off his anima/soul and she got him to admit that he had made a deal with something to further his knowledge of blood magic. Initial when he started to show signs of mutation dieing and letting the bees put him back together again fixed the problem however at this point even they were unable to reverse the problem. Wanda started giving Vik transfusions of Anima in an effort to slow things and asked Vik to remain at the clinic under observation which he ultimately refused to do. He did however turn over the book he used to contact the entity and after taking some precautions Wanda used it herself and learned the creatures name... I did write it down buuuuut that note must be on my laptop which I've lent to a friend :/, ether way Wanda was unwilling to risk bargaining with the creature and clearly out of her league broke off contact and turned the matter over to the arcane department))

Results from Carl's Investigation. He would share this with his co-workers and friends who are involved in the case:
1) Information about Gleipnir Defence Services: A private military contractor, specialising in: - Object security as well as bodyguard duties (mostly regular business) - Quick global threat response teams trained in anti-terror, police support and frontline warfare roles (mostly regular business) - Company special forces trained in containment operations and anti-occult threat response (operating in the Secret World) - Company headquarters located in Braunschweig, Germany. The building is nicknamed "Gleipnir Tower" by local Braunschweig residents.
Information about Thule Shipping: - A, by all means, regular looking shipping company - No recorded ties to any society or other Secret World entity - Company based in the Hansestadt Hamburg, Germany. - Ships all around the world
Connections between the companies and Garvik: Gleipnir: - Former middle to high-ranking employee - Field coordinator for the Special Forces Division (dealing with Secret World stuff) - Shareholder of 9% of the company shares due to takeover of Reaver Mercenary Corp. (Garvik CEO) by GDS. - Fallout after failed operation in Egypt, resulting in Garvik quitting his job - Lawsuit against Garvik about terminating his contract prior to the agreed upon date. GDS wins in German court, claiming the entirety of Garvik's shares in the company.
Thule Shipping: - None
Penetrating High-Explosive (PHE) rounds: - Developed specifically for GDS Special Forces to enable them to appropriately respond to the threats encountered in the Secret World - Technology to realise the design provided by Manticore
Followup Actions: Possibly try to locate former employees of either Gleipner or Thule, see if any are willing to spill some trade secrets? Also, Orochi connection to the explosive ammunition; seems like a PIT datamine into Manticore's experiments with this ammunition is in order. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2) Garvik's personal file doesn't give away much. He has never changed his name and most of the "action reports" describe rather dull security duty and paperwork sessions in the Solvall. However, there is a note that apart from his fixed position in ÆSec he had also still worked as a freelance mercenary. He never reported any of his contractors or assignments back to Ægir, though. Followup Actions: A deeper background check into Vik's history. Ask Anna to look through his e-mail and phone records, perhaps find an unusual contact that he had?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3) Garvik's apartment is located on Redcrosse in London. The rather roomy flat is exceptionally tidy with mostly modern furniture. Most of the walls are adorned by either certificates for marksmanship or pictures showing Garvik, along with other people, all geared up and combat ready in the different climate zones of this planet - desert, jungle, tundra ... you name it. One thing about the apartment is odd, though: Near the end of the hallway that leads to the bathroom there is a massive steel door laid inside the right wall of the corridor, which looks oddly out of place in the otherwise normal looking flat. No handle, no keyhole, just a keypad.
The book with the blood rituals, as Carl would likely find out during his research, is in possesion of Ægir. Vik gave it to Wanda when he was first "persuaded" to see someone about his condition.
Followup Action: What's behind the unusual steel door? Look through Vik's office and apartment for any sign of a PIN number for the door's keypad. Would prefer not use brute force (either by punching in numbers or by explosives) to accomplish this.
