Dear sir or madam,
I am writing to apply for a position with Ægir Communications. I enclose my CV for your consideration.
Name (including aliases as appropriate): Edward “Palmer” Jameson
Age/Gender: 52, male
Position Desired: Legal department
Relevant Skills:
I hold a first class BA honours degree in History from Durham University, converted via a Graduate Diploma in Law in 1994. I am a solicitor registered with the Solicitors Regulation Authority (in the UK), currently employed by EP Monnet LLP in London.
EP Monnet specialises in the location and retrieval of manuscripts, relics, talismans and other specialist objects as required by its clients. As I understand that the services Ægir Communications provides for its clients include the procurement of items, I believe my skills and experience will be of value.
I am highly experienced in dealing with legal issues arising from the procurement of items, including handling disputes over ownership, transporting items across borders and ensuring the co-operation of local law enforcement agencies.
I believe I may also be able to help the company in other ways, such as ensuring our clients are successful in negotiations with potential business partners and even helping them to build productive relationships with politicians, judges and the media.
Relevant Background Information:
I am proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, basic CMS use, combat techniques involving pistols, shotguns and elementalism, and have a clean driving licence.
Before entering the legal profession I was an investigative reporter working for a number of media outlets including The News of the World.
Contact Information: Please call my mobile, on [redacted]
Next-of-Kin (optional): None

1. How much experience do you have with roleplaying? Have you played other MMORPGs? There's no wrong answer here.
I’ve been roleplaying on and off for more than a decade. I began in Ultima Online. For a while I helped run a Neverwinter Nights roleplaying server called Battledale. I’ve played lots of MMOs – Age of Conan, Everquest II, World of Warcraft and Eve Online in particular.
2. What has brought your character to the group? Do you have any stories/ideas that you hope to develop for them as they progress through the game, and if so, what are they?
My character really is part of a guild called by EP Monnet LLP in game, along with a friend (character name Arx – I am not sure how he will register here). He’s an old friend back from UO.
Although it’s fun having our own little guild, we want to join a larger group of roleplayers in The Secret World. Not just for roleplaying, in my case at least – I do like actually to play the game, to do the quests and dungeons with other people who are roleplayers and who I know (or can get to know). So that’s basically what I’m looking for. Arx found you guys on tsw-rp.com and based on what it says there and on the forums, you looked like roleplayers with an interesting guild concept which fits in to the setting. I’m hoping we’ll be good matches for each other:)
I have a pretty strong sense of who my character is but I rarely have stories which I plan in advance. I like to see where interactions with other characters takes things.
3a. Fill in the blank: If my character were to meet an Eldritch Horror From Beyond Space And Time, he would probably give it his business card.
3b. Fill in the blank: If I were to meet an Eldritch Horror From Beyond Space And Time, I would probably put it down to those oysters I had the night before.
4. How did you find out about us, and how would you like for us to contact you in-game?
Via tsw-rp.com. You can send me a tell in game if you like, IC (the mobile phone!) or OOC – whatever’s easiest.
5. Have you ever wanted a chance to just say whatever you'd like to about yourself to a group of anonymous strangers over the internet? If so, here's your chance!
I think I’ve said it all but here’s the background to EP Monnet LLP – if your recruiter was to look at the firm’s website IC to check up on Mr Jameson, this is what they would see:
“Founded in Salzburg by Ernest Peter Monnet in 1921, the firm specialised in the identification and recovery of historic artefacts relating to the Teutonic Knights and the early days of the Kingdom of Prussia.
“Relocating to London in the 1930s, the firm expanded its activities and now offers a discrete and comprehensive service to anyone seeking to locate manuscripts, relics, talismans and other unique objects apparently lost to antiquity. Our talented staff can provide solutions to problems ranging from acquiring the items to dealing with any legal matters which may arise.
“Mr Monnet is no longer with us, except in spirit, but the senior partners at EP Monnet LLP are proud to carry on his work. We look forward to your custom. “
