Thanks for applying! We're a group of roleplayers who find MMORPGs more fun to play when the roles of our characters are more fully developed than a list of numbers to define their survivability and damage. Members of the group will be expected to play and converse in-character (IC) for group activities, using notation such as (( )) around text intended to be out-of-character (OOC) so that it's clearly recognizable. We're seeking players who are mature, low-drama, and interested in character development as well as game progression!
Please take a minute to look over our Rules And Tone page--there's not a lot of rules, but if you're part of the group, you'll be expected to follow the few rules that we've got while you're representing us with the group's handle.
To help us get a feel for who you are and what you'd like to get out of being part of the group, please answer the following questions:
1. How much experience do you have with roleplaying? Have you played other MMORPGs? There's no wrong answer here.
I have roleplayed for roughly five to six years. I first started roleplaying in WoW then moved on to Garrysmod (though not an MMORPG) after two years. So yes, I have played other MMORPGs: Shadowbane, World of Warcraft, Forsaken World, and some others I never exactly stayed with for long.
2. What has brought your character to the group? Do you have any stories/ideas that you hope to develop for them as they progress through the game, and if so, what are they?
My character Franc was brought to AEgir because of Cecily and her crazy antics partying with Shay. She essentially dragged me into all of this. Yep, I'm putting the blame on her. In order for Noel to apply for the job, Franc would have had to apply as well. He figures he can also keep a careful eye on her. He finds working for delegations and consulting for rich, snobby guys to be quite boring and is hoping that actually applying for a job will be a nice change. OOCly, I think finally joining a legitimate cabal will prove to be a great RP experience!
As for the stories I hoped to develop for him, I honestly am not sure exactly which in-depth path I'll take for this character. Franc has visions which allow him to see every possibility for the present. This, of course in itself, is highly nerfed because he can't act on any one possibility. (If you have over six million choices to make within five seconds, which one do you choose?) He casts without a focus, but there are many, many things that disrupt all of his abilities (including the visions) such as alcohol, early combat, drugs, smoke, open wounds, etc. I was careful to throw in several flaws and stipulations to balance his abilities. (But hey, we live in a world where almost everybody in Ealdwic is immortal, eh, eh?) I also plan on writing a guide in the near future listing out exactly how the system of roleplaying him and his abilities work. He has a rough collection of his past. He remembers he had a family and the fact he worked with a group known as Curriculum, but his extensive past, including his childhood, is a complete mystery to him (that includes recollection of real name). I'm not exactly sure how I'm going to develop on his extensive past or not. That's still a black void for me, but I'm open to suggestions!
3a. Fill in the blank: If my character were to meet an Eldritch Horror From Beyond Space And Time, he/she would probably kill it with fire!
3b. Fill in the blank: If I were to meet an Eldritch Horror From Beyond Space And Time, I would probably look it up to see exactly what it was. I actually did that... don't judge.
4. How did you find out about us, and how would you like for us to contact you in-game?
RFG parties! Partaaaaaaaaaaaaay- but yes, that would also be the best way to contact me. My character's phone (number ICly attached to application.)
5. Have you ever wanted a chance to just say whatever you'd like to about yourself to a group of anonymous strangers over the internet? If so, here's your chance!
Sometimes... I dream about cheese. (Props to those who get the reference.)
