Relevant Background Information:
Where to start. I guess the beginning would probably make the most sense. I was born on August 1st in 87. My father was Anthony Vega. Head of a very old house, and very old money. I never knew my mother. Never met her. Hell, I don't even know if she's still alive. My father only told me that she came from Korea, and that she asked for him to take me from there. I guess that's why I looked different from everyone else.
I grew up in my father's house in Valladolid, Spain with a step-mother who hated me. Can't say that I blame her, I was a constant reminder of the one time her beloved husband forgot, however temporarily, his honor. I had a step sister too. She and I never really got along. She liked her mother too much for her to even want to get close to the thing her mother hated. Father always looked out for me though. Taught me right from wrong. How to measure people. I'll be the first to admit that my childhood wasn't tragic by any stretch of the word. Sure, I was always known as that girl and was never allowed to sit at the table at family functions, but I was never in want for anything. I had money. I had friends. I had a future in Ballet.
That's right. Ballet. You can stop laughing now. I even went to school for that you know. Went to the Royal Ballet School in London and got a degree in Acting while I was there too. I guess I had a dream for showbiz. Never panned out in the end. Father and mother died during my last year in London. I'm told that it was an accident during one of Father's regular mountaineering expeditions. But it never sat right with me.
Remember what I said about old money? I meant secret world old. Like, neck deep secret world old. I was sure that it had something to do with their dealings there. So did my sister. In the end, this brought us closer than Father's encouraging ever did. She wanted to get to the truth of what happened, and I wanted to be there. I was never taught to use magic or anything, so I did the next best thing, combat training. I like to think that it was the best money could buy. Working together, our search brought us to mind-blowing places. Mind-blowing for me anyway. She had grown up with that kind of stuff. This went on for over a year, and we were finally getting close to something when the shit hit the fan.
I got Bee'd.
You'd think that'd be a good thing. But for my sister, seeing me being able to do on instinct, what she spent her whole life to be able do was the last straw. She disowned me and cast me out. She even sent hitmen out for me. I didn't know she had it in her. Left with nothing except for the clothes on my back and people out for my head, I fled to America, somewhere I knew she's never operated in before.
Knowing what I knew about the secret world and my particular skill set, I found work with the Illuminati. Freelance work. Bodyguarding mostly, for situations where they didn't want to appear openly involved in. It suited me just fine. So why do I want to tie myself down to one employer? Because I still want answers and the mysteries are bigger than just me. Aegir Communications' new to the Illuminati, just like me. There's still some of that neutrality and reputation, and I'm going to need both if I'm going to be able to reach my goals.
And what do you get out of the deal? Someone reliable who kicks ass in a scrap, and who can schmooze through a bad situation in the same sexy package. And I'm an awesome dancer. I hear you like dancers.

((OOC section))
Thanks for applying! We're a group of roleplayers who find MMORPGs more fun to play when the roles of our characters are more fully developed than a list of numbers to define their survivability and damage. Members of the group will be expected to play and converse in-character (IC) for group activities, using notation such as (( )) around text intended to be out-of-character (OOC) so that it's clearly recognizable. We're seeking players who are mature, low-drama, and interested in character development as well as game progression!
Please take a minute to look over our Rules And Tone page--there's not a lot of rules, but if you're part of the group, you'll be expected to follow the few rules that we've got while you're representing us with the group's handle.
To help us get a feel for who you are and what you'd like to get out of being part of the group, please answer the following questions:
1. How much experience do you have with roleplaying? Have you played other MMORPGs? There's no wrong answer here.
I have roleplayed for a good 16 years now, starting with pen and paper D&D second edition. My experience with roleplaying settings have been fairly divided between Rifts and Whitewolf titles over the years, with the Exalted setting as my personal favorite. I have also run and participated in play by post games for several years on rpol.net. On the MMO front, I have played WoW for many years hardcore before life demanded that I stop. I have also played Guild Wars 2, The Old Republic and TERA online very casually. That said, I actually have very little experience roleplaying in a MMO. All of my friends that I play these games with are not into roleplaying, so I was never able to get into it nearly as much as I would have liked. I have done some roleplaying in the Old Republic and look forward to picking things up again in the Secret World.
2. What has brought your character to the group? Do you have any stories/ideas that you hope to develop for them as they progress through the game, and if so, what are they?
Most angles regarding hiring her for a job or full time would work I think. Or anything else you guys might want to try. Something in Security would fit best in my opinion. I'm still quite new to the game, so I'm not really sure how I'd like to develop her story right now. As I digest more of the lore and plot I will certainly come up with something though. You'd be the first to know!
3a. Fill in the blank: If my character were to meet an Eldritch Horror From Beyond Space And Time, he/she would probably __________.
If it looks hostile, she would probably flick off the safety of her rifle with an eager grin and say something along the lines of, "F--- the H--- yes." She's a bit of the reckless adrenaline junkie.
3b. Fill in the blank: If I were to meet an Eldritch Horror From Beyond Space And Time, I would probably __________.
I'd either soil myself or go gibberingly insane for witnessing something so far beyond my puny mortal mind. Not sure which of the two would be luckier...
4. How did you find out about us, and how would you like for us to contact you in-game?
I tend to do research on the MMOs that I play so I go into things with some idea of what to expect and do. I saw your cabal advertisement, which led me to your website. I really liked the concept behind your group, especially all the e-mail style correspondences. As for how to contact me in-game, KoverGirl is my handle. She usually has her phone with her and will pick up if she thinks that its a prospective employer.
5. Have you ever wanted a chance to just say whatever you'd like to about yourself to a group of anonymous strangers over the internet? If so, here's your chance!
I...erm..That is to say...I uhh...like...toast? Looking forward to meeting you all!
