Re: New director of Human Resources.
As many of you are aware, our Human Resources department has been run extremely efficiently by Jenna Mercado for a number of years. However, after the Sentaxx debacle, the Board has decided that she is the best person to scare them into being profitable again. This leaves a gaping vacancy; one that would prevent us all from getting paid, which might be a problem for everyone except perhaps Arcane. However, Jenna suggested her own successor to the board, and that person accepted the responsibility. That person, as you may well have guessed, is me.
I want to assure you that HR will continue to be run efficienctly; Ms. Mercado has left me all of her...."staff." It may be a while before I get them all fully under control, but in the meantime, I can make sure paychecks get sent out and hiring/exit interviews procede as normal. Ms. Mercado had been sending me paperwork to assist her on for several weeks, and I am well versed in the ins and outs of the job.
I do wish to warn people, however, that I am NOT Ms. Mercado. She took an approach to the job that did not interact with the various departments; indeed, interaction often resulted in termination of the messenger. Then they would get fired. With the growth our company has experienced, I believe that more screening is necessary for any and all new employees. While this may hinder growth, I believe it necessary to prevent any corporate or adversary societal spying. To this end, I am asking that the department heads email me a list of any agents or interns that have been with the company less than 90 days. I would also like to encourage any of our new additons to come visit me in the HR office, though I will not make those visits compulsary.
It is my hope that my transition to this new position will be as smooth as posible. It is quite a bit different than my last job, but with the quality of staff in Investigations, I was a bit superflous there, and if Ms. Mercado believes I can succeed her, than I owe it to myself to try. I'd like to thank you all for reading this memo, and look forward to signing all of your paychecks.
