Welcome to the Cabal! Attached to this thread is a compressed file (scripts.zip) containing some small script files that I wrote to make integrating into the group easier. There's a more detailed set of instructions below in the thread if you have questions about them, but to get started: 1. Download the attachment at the bottom of this message. 2. Go to the "scripts" subdirectory of TSW, or make it if it's not there already. 3. Extract the files in scripts.zip to the TSW/scripts subdirectory.And that's it! There's a total of four scripts: auto_login, auto_teleport, aegir, and toc. All of them are text files that can be opened, examined, and tweaked to your heart's content. To use them: auto_login and auto_teleport: these will automatically have you join the channels we use when you login in or change zones. You don't need to do anything for them to work but have 'em in the scripts subdirectory! aegir: will put light blue text into our OOC channel, #aegir. Usage: /aegir {insert text you want to put on the #aegir channel in the channel's color}toc: will put pale green text into our IC channel for friends/alts, #TheOtherChannel. Usage: /toc {insert text you want to put on the #TheOtherChannel}Attachments:

Just to emphasize how quick and cool this is:
1. You download.
2. You open your TSW folder.
3. You make a "scripts" folder.
4. You drag and click everything inside that zip file up there into your new scripts file.
That's it. Takes alluvabout five seconds -- six, if you have a 56k modem still. As an added bonus, typing /toc now lets you chat ICly with us exciting AEgir types no matter what alt we're playing. Nice, eh?

The Detailed Instructions!
1. Find TSW on your computer. If you used the default installation, TSW will be located in:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Funcom\The Secret World if you have the 64-bit version of Windows, or C:\Program Files\Funcom\The Secret World if you have the 32-bit version.
2. Go to the "scripts" subdirectory. If your installation of TSW doesn't have one of these automatically created, just make a new folder within the "The Secret World" directory and name it "scripts".
3. Download the scripts.zip file from this thread.
4. Extract the files in scripts.zip to the scripts subdirectory from step 2.
And that's it! There's a total of four scripts: auto_login, auto_teleport, aegir, and toc. All of them are text files if you want to open them and look them over to make sure they're safe (which I personally like to do before running some script that I just downloaded off the internet).
Here's what they do and how to use them:
auto_login This script automatically has you join our OOC channel, #aegir, and our IC cross-cabal channel, #TheOtherChannel. You don't need to do anything to use it, it should run automatically when you start the game.
auto_teleport This script does the same thing as auto_login, but does it when you change zones. This is helpful if the lingering chat bugs in the game drop you out of chat channels that you're subscribed to--this will resubscribe you to #aegir and #TheOtherChannel automatically when you change zones. Again, you don't need to do anything to use it, it'll run on its own.
aegir This script puts text into the #aegir channel, in the pale blue that we use to make it easy to tell the difference between that channel and others. Usage: /aegir {insert text you want to put on the #aegir channel in the channel's color}
Below is a test line that you can just copy and paste into the game's chat-interface to see if it's working.
/aegir Hello world!
Note that in TSW, you only need to type as much of a script's name as necessary to distinguish it from other scripts. So you should also be able to use:
/ae Hello world!
to get the exact same output.
toc This script puts text into #TheOtherChannel, in the pale green that we use to make it easy to tell the difference between that channel and others.
Usage: /toc {insert text you want to put on the #TheOtherChannel}
Below is a test line that you can just copy and paste into the game's chat-interface to see if it's working.
/toc Hello world!

A new chat channel has been created that's shared by us with several close friends and allies outside of the cabal. Add /chat join hellbears to your "auto login" script to join in on the fun. (And you'll have to ask Saki or Vi how they came up with "hellbears" for the channel name. )
