Hey boss,
So you know our newest client? The one who's gearing up for a run for governor of New York? (Before you ask, yes I was eavesdropping on your meeting last night. In my defense, it was a public bar, and you did hire me on as an investigator) Well, that got me thinking, and on a lark I decided to look into some of the other names being tossed around as potential gubernatorial candidates. I stumbled across some interesting information.
There's a certain famous New York media mogul who has been rumored to be preparing his own campaign for the governor's seat. I took a look into his finances. And because these dudes are never any good with their money laundering I found out that he has been transferring very large sums of money to a bank account in London at regular intervals. My first thought was that maybe someone on the Red Team was helping him out in the same way we were with our client. And then I realized they would never be so careless with their paper trail.
So I followed the money and it turns out it's just your run of the mill, career ruining human trafficking/prostitution ring. I'm forwarding all of the relevant documentation to you. You'll see that I showed my work. I figure at the very least this will give you a better bargaining position if you ever have another meeting with our newest client.
It's not my job to tell you what to do with this information, just to find it. But if you decide to make this public when the time is right, with your permission, I'd like to leak it as an anonymous tip to an old colleague from Journalism school. He does good work and I feel he's over due for a Pulitzer. I'd consider it a personal favor. Anyway, thought this might make your day.
