Hi,
Name's Wendy, I'm new around here. I've spoken to a few of you in chat and was dragged along on an Elite DW run last night as the group's handicap which I proved by dying as often as I could get away.
Anyway, do you have any mods you all recommend? I know in my previous TSW playing time (I had taken a long break!) I had TSWRP, a mod that changed the crafting interface and maybe one or two others.

Seen you on #aegir, but haven't had a chance to RP with you yet - looking forward to it!
TSWRP is awesome, if for no other reason than to see other people's writeups. The description section also lets you nail down some immediate impression things in RP like accent, scars, tatoos, and special jewelry.
I like Valet really well as a clothing system. Those that know me know i change clothes up all the time, so this is nice and useful.
RPcolors is not a mod so much as a set of pre-written scripts that let you use /say in different colors, and also act as a nice easy into to scripts - which IMO are fun as hell to write. Lemme know if you need any pointers there.
I hear there are a couple that are good for PvE / PvP purposes, but nothing so functional as DBM or Recount.

I grabbed it this morning. I was dismayed to see that after my long break (from around the rocket launcher launch until now) that chat is still problematic. *sighs* I saw your recommendations. I'll likely pick up Valet too. I seem to change outfits about once a day, sometimes more. Last night I discovered the London store has more options than when I quite playing and did even more shopping! I spent close to $200,000 on clothing!

I use TSWRP and Valet. TSWRP is a nice little biography tool. And Valet is great for managing outfits. Perfect for fashionistas.
I've heard Viper's Topbar is good too, it's a UI mod that let's you customize all sorts of information being displayed to you. I've never used it myself, but it's been recommended to me.

Chat is only problematic as of the Cairo patch - it's been great for a long time. Plus, they did a patch today to fix "the cause of a server crash", so lets hope it was the chat server.
New patch blues. Nothin' new.

I remember that issue though - did some real damage to the RP community for a while. I think we're strong enough to ride it out this time.

It seems that the same problem is still happening but maybe it is because of the community server weirdness. I just remember back in the day custom channels would not stay on consistently and it was very, very aggravating!

Alright. I installed TSWRP and Valet but neither seem to be working for me. I put the contents in the flash folder into tsw/data/gui/customized/flash. I probably did something wrong.
Edit: I take it back. Valet is working. TSWRP not really. It brings up a window with a smaller window in the upper left and that's all.

I have a black window for TSWRP. I've done some googling, and people have said that its other conflicting mods?

You're using the curse client? Disable each mod one at a time until the game works properly. Whichever one is off is the offending party. Check and make sure it's the most updated version, but with 1.6 having come out rather recently I wouldn't be too surprised if some 3rd party bits haven't had a chance to catch up yet.

Using the Curse client is the best way to do any add-ons. Not only does it put stuff in the right place, it also keeps you notified when your add-ons come out with a new version.
