I went up to Mt. Evans. 14,256 feet in elevation. It was 97 in the city.... and I got snowed on! The white misty stuff coming from the cloud is snow! This is the lake in that picture. Summit Lake. 12,800 feet. We saw Big Horn Sheep (though no rams; only mammas and yearlings. We also saw some Mountain Goats And this lady wasn't alone... she brought the Kids! And what do kids do? They jump on rocks of course! Normally I wouldn't get so close to wild animals, but this is a huge tourist destination....they came to US with no fear. Not close enough for a handout, though, so in theory those signs everywhere saying not to feed the wildlife are doing their job. And after burning all those calories (and ourselves, though my wife got it worse. She got on me about sunscreen and didn't apply it herself. HA!), we earned ourselves a Mountain Pie. For those of you who don't know what this delicacy is, it's a pizza, where the outer crust is done up sort of like a pastry. You put honey on it and eat it for desert! So HA, Funcom, I don't NEED your episode. Now just have to have another epic two days...

I got a picture of the Big Horn Sheep, but it was mostly just butts. And no rams, so their horns weren't very big. My wife got a pic of a Yellow Bellied Marmot that she was supposed to send me, but didn't. And I got a pic of the medallion the engineers put on the top of every 14er, to prove I made it to the summit (which for Mt. Evans isn't a big deal, you can DRIVE most of the way up. But still.)
And yes, there was sunlight, but there was also SNOW. In July. You know you people in the hot climes are like YES PLEASE.

Yes actually. They dropped my wife. Well, technically, she dropped herself while trying to get a better shot.
