Can these be used IC? Are they things sold by Orochi or are they things used only by internal Orochi security forces?

They can totally be used ICly. Whatever back story you come up for them is fine. Maybe you liberated them from a fallen Orochi soldier?
One popular excuse for Aegirs using Orochi skins is to say it was developed by ESI Labs (Aegir's In-House weapons manufacturer) since a lot of what ESI builds is based on Orochi tech.

Not a bad idea but it has the Orochi logo which is why it occured to me "maybe they just sell their stuff?"

According to ingame lore, Orochi supplies much of the weaponry for all three societies (hence why the PvP stuff is all Orochi)).

Also, the bullion weapons are Orochi.
I find a harder time explaining the corrupted skins ICly. "I uhh took this weapon back with me from a peyote trip where I dreamt I fought Mayans along side Vikings"

Even hand waving the corrupted weapons as something more contemporary would raise eyebrows considering most of that's supposed to be filth tainted equipment.

Even hand waving the corrupted weapons as something more contemporary would raise eyebrows considering most of that's supposed to be filth tainted equipment. I use Corrupted for my main whip as its ability is set to work as a combo AoE debuff/buff and so whipping enemies with filth would ICly be an extension of that. By debuffing the enemies, you set an imbalance by making yourself and your team more powerful temporarily at the same time. It's a shame the debuffs don't stack over time though. Jule's secondary whip has a Tune augment and it has Demonic skin on it as "Whippersnapper" can be used as an interrupt and combine with a slow. It reminded me of the elemental magick where hinder is used so it's got that fiery glow to the whip. ((This came in handy by the way to work as a third false "impair" in the GK tank challenge, btw, which was still all green. )) FTR, as Jule doesn't use guns, she can't use rocket-launchers, flamethrowers, and chainsaws. I have a quantum and it's demonic based as it's an impair/hinder type of power selected. She hardly really uses it though. So, yeah, ICly Orochi skins make great tech-looking weapons. For those who want a more organic look when dealing with the arcane concept of their builds , think not only of your character but the aux weapon's main function too. I'm still waiting for Sex Magick to be an aux weapon choice Myri
