Though I still say you all should watch SAO...

There is another show that's been thundering around for a season that's going to be hitting the rest of the world really hard in a couple of months and deserves the attention of discerning anime viewers, and that show is....
www.crunchyroll.com/attack-on-titan
Attack on Titan is anime's take on the old zombie tale, but instead of zombies, humanity is beset by mindlessly ravenous giants known as "titans", and have hidden themselves behind three impossibly huge walls to escape. Count on the classice zombie-movie protocols - humans turning on each other and factioning up out of fear, dealing with "Fuck you, got mine!" politics, horrible graphic violence, and because it's anime, plenty of kick-ass fighting.
The animation of the fight scenes is "holy shit awesome" on a level that I haven't seen since the swordfighting scenes in Samurai Champloo....and even better because of the attention to detail in the physics of the high-speed, high-movement 3-D maneuvering equipment that they use to engage the giants.
I'm linking an example scene below, just to show you a taste of it. Far from the best example, but the only one I could find without spoilers - once the fighting starts, the dying usually starts, too.

It's still ongoing, but they've released 26 eps so far, not a dud among them. All free on Crunchyroll. Please tell me what you think if you decide to try it out!
